I tried to buy 10 of these but it wouldn't allow me to, so I ended up buying 2 individually but now the seller says I can only buy 2 items from him at a time and I have to wait 10 days before I can purchase any more from him? Anybody come across this before?

I think I will order 1 as well Norm, it looks like each of his listings have had a 0 drop off the end.

Bit apprehensive at the moment. will have a think and then buy it tonight.

Part of me wants to click buy it now, then the other half thinks 'if it sounds too good to be true...'

I have rung anybody I can think of to buy me 2 each time so far I think I have about 10 lined up, one mate just emailed me to say he bought 2 for $10 because ANZ had put a $50 credit in his new account. I just looked and they say 10 sold in the last hour. Price has to be a mistake

Hi Norm,

This is obviously a mistake or a a well orchestrated scam as no one can sell a chainsaw with shipping from China for $27.00 only. As Tyler says it's a mistake with a zero missing off the end and as such they've suddenly discovered it and ended the listing. Don't be surprised that you get a refund and nothing gets sent to you, or you have to do a PayPal claim and get your money back

Cheers,
BB.

Actually if you look at the sales history you'll find that the sales have all been made on the 19th which is today.

I bet London to a brick that no one will receive a chainsaw, just a refund of $27.00 and a big sorry "we stuffed up" excuse.

Cheers,
BB.

This is rather interesting as there is another seller here in Australia that's selling the same unit for a bit more but still fairly cheap. There is another 25 odd dollars for shipping involved though.

That is a bigger saw BB, it is a 72cc one. I haven't received an "item has been shipped notice" yet so it is still a waiting game.

Best of luck Norm, hope everything works out well.

It must have been quite an effort to get 16 organized in that short period of time.

Hi Tyler, a lot of phone calls getting people with ebay accounts to buy 2 which was the max you could get. Admittedly they are not all for me, other blokes wanted to grab a bargain as well. I think I ended up with 9 See how it works out.

Gotta be a mistake. I've seen 58cc MTMs on Gumtree for $129.

Best of luck though Norm! If you land them, you'll end up with a criminal record, what a steal!

The total number we got booked in was 18 so if it all works out I end up with 9 or 12 depending on who wants to keep what in the end. If it all goes to pot then I had an entertaining day spinning around yay

Hi Norm,

Wow well that's good news, I just can't get my head around how anyone can sell something like this for a whole AUD$27.00 and send it Internationally and still make a profit. I'm still scratching my head on that point.

Looks like you'll have "Fastway Couriers" dropping in one after the other like ships in the night with parcels. Your neighbours will start wondering what sort of racket you're running.

Cheers,
BB.

Hi BB,
only 2 will be dropped here, the others will have to be picked up from friends because we could only order a max of 2 so it took 9 of us to get the 18 of them. I'm wondering if they were meant to be listed at $127 and not $27. I sort of feel bad but if I hadn't chased them somebody else would have grabbed them and before I bought the first ones I read that 36 had been sold in the last 24 hours, so other people had been jumping on them. Just watched a few videos on them they look like an excellent saw, people very happy with them

Hi Norm,

I still reckon it's a blue on their behalf but no one will give a rats within the process of sending them out unless one of the bean counters within that organisation falls across this by accident and hits the roof in the process.

Anything will be good at $27.00, even it it just did one job and was then tossed out, it'll have paid for itself I guess.

So one has to ask the question if I may, what's actually happening with the 18 saws ????????

Cheers,
BB.

Hi BB,
That is a question that got a bit lost in the excitement of the chase.
2 were bought by a mate with a mower shop
2 were bought by a mate with a mowing/gardening round He already has 3 saws but couldn't help himself at that price.
2 were bought by another mate who already has a good saw but couldn't resist a bargain
2 were bought by the secretary at my mates factory, she wants one for fathers day the other my mate has claimed at this stage
2 were bought by me daughter for me
2 were bought by my grandsons partner for me
2 were bought by my grandsons partners father for me.
2 were bought by my grandson he wants to keep one and one for me
2 were bought by me for me.
The 3 my mate has ended up with may end up as mine once he asks himself what did I buy those for.
When I get them all collected up I will have to decide what to do with them, it was all about the chase at the time
At this stage I will end up with 9 but could end up with 12

Its inherently problematic to sell chainsaws - because half of the people who want a cheap saw we know shouldn't be allowed to operate one.

I once had someone ask me to tell them how to start their chainsaw - I said that if you don't know how to start it, you ought not really be using it laugh. Another said it stopped cutting half way through a branch - they bumped the chainbrake.

Even if your saws arrive late september it still leaves plenty of time for one hell of a halloween joke - all you need is some of those masks laugh

Norm, does that bloke who you said went off the ladder with a chainsaw whilst drunk still live across the street from you? Reckon he would want one? haha

Hi Tyler,

Very good memory regarding the bloke across the road. Yes he still lives there and believe it or not he brought the chainsaw he was using when he fell across for me to look at it on Saturday. When it hit the ground it punched the side of the pull start in and he couldn't start it. Guess what, he wanted to cut some more branches of the tree he fell out of but he was going to get a mate of his to get up the tree. Even that I see it full of danger because his mate is a big drinker as well.

BB how did you find the sanders, they are $100 cheaper than Edisons price and they usually have the cheapest prices on all that sort of stuff.Funny thing is they both use exactly the same photo in their ads
Wonder what it is all about

Just looked at the listing you put the link up for and then looked at "Sellers other items".

Then there's this garden seat, how do they do it for $24.00 with postage included ? This is basically dumping rubbish prices.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gardeon-Outdoor-Swing-Chair-Hammock-Garden-Canopy-Bench-Seat-Cushion-Furniture/362727142397?hash=item547438f3fd:g:zjUAAOSwgO9dVUB2

I keep saying it's no wonder this country is rapidly going under as we can barely send a small package interstate for that price point.

Cheers,
BB.

BB,
this one looks very similar but it is $147.90, it has to be a place offloading excess stock. Maybe I don't feel so bad about the chain saws now. I might get some sanders as well and put them on gumtree for $40 that is doubling my money, better than I'm getting from the bank.
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gardeon-Canopy-Swing-Chair-Navy/303206365211?_
Tried to buy a couple of sanders but because I bought 2 chainsaws seller locks me out from buying anything else for the next 10 days. I need to find more friends with ebay accounts

Norm,

Don't know why they are carrying on as if they are distributing Christmas presents to all disadvantaged children for free ?

You'd think they just want to move the stuff and if that means it all goes to one person, so be it ??

Cheers,
BB.

Just read this thread through. I thought I got a bargain when I bought a Gardenline 50cc chainsaw for half price at $80for at Aldos three years back. I have only used it once and not keen on the tooless chain tensioner, but it cut two thick branches with ease when I last used it. It came with a complete hard carry case.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
