I`ll look for a petrol tank filter and put the carby back on and check for petrol going back into the tank. i suppose i could see it running back down the plastic petrol line? Probably hard to see for the dark color. Another thought, maybe it would be easier to buy another carby. Do you have it and how much cost + freight to Brisbane also the petrol tank filter? Where are you?
