I asked an EBay seller in America once what it would take to send his recently repainted 1984 Chevrolet Impala to Australia and to my astonishment, he made detailed enquiries covering shipping and customs duty details into Australia by the next day. My heart was set on power windows and it had wind ups but looked beautiful inside and out otherwise. I had an obsession with luxury features in American cars then, and the car wasn't old enough black in 2001 to qualify for exemption from RHD conversion, so I passed.
I wish I had got it as I love the styling and I learned later that these were essentially the fleet special base model of the Chevy B bodies and most had hand crank windows. Also, paint quality was a weak spot from factory and a respray was a great thing.
