I have a 1981 dated print copy of the manual you have pictured here, and it has the points ignition info only.
The current #270962 omits the points info, and only covers the Magnetron electronic ignitions.

Yep, everything but the older points ignitions.
This info is now found only in the current Briggs P/No CE8069; Service Manual for Out of Production Engines 1919-1981.

Edit: And a very useful section of the print 270962, S14 General Theories of Operation, has not been carried over into CE8069.
As far as I have been able to find out thus far, Briggs has not created any stand-alone PDF doco which incorporates this info, either.
