Yep, on the earlier models of Heavycut slashers made during the Mobilco era, with horizontal shaft engines and CCW cutter rotation, the nuts on both ends of the cutter spindle are LH thread.
That cutter rotation is about the only time left hand threads are found on mowers. Most Greenfields, except for early models, use it.
There's a quite rare owners manual/parts list up on FleaBay just now; if you don't snag it, grabbing copies of the pics would be worthwhile.
