I'm glad your on the mend Graham, a lucky escape indeed.
Please don't confuse our responses as arrogant, as we are merely trying to ascertain the exact problem from what can be seen.... The blade slip issue, and the correct nut thread type was my assumption,
So you could purchase a new one to fit the shaft correctly.
I'm again under the assumption, that the nut is hitting the Boss tangs before it touches the blade plate to lock it down, causing it to slip. If you still have had no success rectifying this, I may be able to offer another option with images.
We are not all young, infact quite a large portion of members are over the 50 mark and many are retired and trying to keep busy with their particular passions.
Unfortunately, some of your questions were slightly criptic, and we were having a little trouble trying to understand exactly where you were getting stuck, so we could give the correct answers.
I think there is enough information for you to find your way around the problem.
Please feel free to ask anything in regards to things you don't know, as this is exactly why we are here....To help and also to learn, not to belittle the knowledge of others.
From time to time, things get lost in translation, and I think we are all of the age to realise that's all it is.
Goodluck with your repairs, and I hope we haven't detered you from visiting, and learning in the future.
Regards Mal.
