Hi Wolfie, and welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing your experience, i'm sure it will help someone along the way.
You've obviously done all the usual checks for a dead or non running 2 stroke and it's good to see you came out on top, but i'm gonna throw in my 2 bobs worth anyway. Experience tells me a couple of things:
1) replace the oring on the manifold, the grease will only last so long before it's sucked in and overrevving becomes a problem again.
2) replace the cut out boot and grommet, theyre about $3-$4 and will save you a lot of grief in the long run.
