Thanks for reporting back, Paul. Dirt or grass in the fuel tank is one of the common causes of mower engine trouble. I use a funnel with a fine mesh filter in it for refueling, and never leave the fuel tank cap off unless the funnel is in place and I'm actually pouring fuel. Haven't had any problems since I started doing that. I won't talk about my experiences prior to doing it though.
