Thanks RR, have dropped the transmission and the engage lever is very stiff, have put some lubricant inside and around with some success at unfreezing it. I am mulling over whether it is worthwhile re installing it to see if successful or get it serviced while it's out, I have no expertise with transmission gears etc so will not probe any further.
