luvpsi, the first step is to test the spark. You can do that by removing the spark plug then grounding the metal body of the plug to the cylinder head and attaching the plug lead to the top of the plug. Put controls in start position and pull starter. Watch for blue sparks across the spark plug gap. If you have spark, next test is to put a spoonful of fuel in through the spark plug hole, reinstall spark plug, connect lead, and try to start it. Hopefully it will start and run for a few seconds.
