Hi to all
My first post and great to have a forum for scott bonnar lawn mowers.
Woundered if someone could shed some light on a problem with a spring on the pull start of my Scott bonnar 45. The mower is 25 or more years old and seen better days but has been looked after and operates well . The last few times I have operated this mower ,yesterday it happened again , A few minuites after the mower is started there is a high pitched squiell from the pull start section of the mower, the pullstart cord is spun out of its wheel a small amount and remains loose. By pulling the cord all the way out and allowing it to recoil the squiell stops, then a minuite later the mower does the same thing. I have removed the pull start 2 or 3 times now and examined the internal parts of the spring and pull cord , after reinstalling the pull start back onto the mower the same thing happened again.
After it happened last night I ran the mower with the pull cord pulled out and tired the cord around the handle of the mower while i mowed, allias ,,no squiel. Do I need new spring?
Any assistance would be appreceiated. Thanks Johnno
