There are only a few manufactures that make reel mowers, but many companies buy the right to put their name on them. This goes for other products too, for example, (Sears Craftsman) is abig name in the tool and power equipment Industry. But thats ALL that it is, a name, Thats where the model# is very important. On Sears-Craftsman products, the first 3 digits of the mdl# tells who made the product ("917" says the it was made by Roper "502"says it was made by Murray and so on} Now the most common manufactures of "reel mowers" are McClane, King-O-Lawn, & Trimmer. The mdl# will say who it was made by.One remaining problem is, you need to have a cross reference, unless, like me you can tell the difference from working on them for 12 yrs.Email me the MDL# also if the engine is a Briggs & Stratton the Mdl Type & Code # may help but its not nessesary.Contcat me at mk.farnam@gateway.net
