Thanks Bruce, I tried that and that's how I stuffed the thread. Its pretty well fused on. I put the screw in and belted it with a hammer. I've managed to locate a engine of the same number and code, only the crank is a little longer, it was off a Masport. I'll have it turned down and externally threaded and use a nyloc nut on the thread like the Victa 2-strokes. The crank bearing surface is a little smaller and the piston off the replacemant crank is oversized so I assume that it has been ground since new. With a bit of luck, I'll be able to use my old piston on the replacement conrod. Does this sound viable?
