Gooz,
Ok this is what you need to do:

1. The timing marks are located on both the crankshaft gear and the cam gear. It is like a centre punch mark on both gears just line the dot's up and the timing is correct.

2. The air gap is easy just use a normal business card between the coil legs and the magnet on the flywheel.

This should help you with you problems.
