Hi Paul, and a warm welcome to the forum. It's good to have another Scott Bonnar owner on board.
I too agree with Steve's (deviosi) method and removing the engine is easy-peasy, a grumpy has mentioned, just 4 bolts and the throttle cable, and leave the clutch shaft intact. Remove all traces of the old cork and glue.

The adhesive that Steve uses is perfect to glue the new cork lining, and use the clutch inner cone with clamps (as per Steve's method) to hold the new lining in place as the adhesive sets.
