Ok so I am slowly working my way through my piles of mowers and today I decided to pull the Deckson out of the shed and have a look at it. Worked on the motor for a while to see if I could get it running but no joy. I then pulled the motor off to have a look at the cone to see if it was worth chucking another motor on it or scrap it and move on. The cone looks reasonable but I don't have any measurements to go by to know if it is worth wasting any time on it. Just finding a good 8hp motor these days is getting harder by the day and I'm not sure if the 6.5 Chonda motors will have enough grunt. Any thoughts?
