Probably one of the biggest problems I have, no idea how many soldering irons I have gone through, anything you can buy these days are just junk, work ok for a while and then fail. Butane and corded all the same rubbish. Recently I bought a torch that runs off a BBQ bottle so I can pre-heat a Birko that was my fathers. Good iron but takes a long time to get up to temp so heating it up with the torch speeds things up
