I really do not think wheel damage is much of an issue with a simple homemade deflector
Not even that much of the clippings seem to exit at the front. Most of it just hits the back on the L shaped piece of metal then shoots to the side.
Ordinary Victa wheels are fine. Not that the concrete inserts are not a bad idea.
