I've been reading about it and it's a case of monkey see monkey do. I'd love to know how it began to take hold here in a supposed stable country. I'm ashamed. It seems it's to do with fear of not being able to get this basic comfort item. Pure herd mentality taking hold.
I couldn't get my favourite pasta from Aldi yesterday either thanks to the hysteria. Wiped out except for the relatively expensive gourmet pasta alternatives made from legumes.
I had better luck at Coles there but the usual sight of glaringly empty isles where TP and tissue products were. I think the supermarkets have been too slow to act in limiting purchases. This situation is unacceptable and had exposed weaknesses in their inventory model
Someone told me a woman had a trolley load of pasta and she had a property in the country she said her family were going to hole up in. Have we reached the start of an apocalypse?
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
