My VC Rat

Howdy, just thought I'd add some pics of my play mower!!

It started life as a white over red, VC SPORTS, but it's now my VC RAT! Flat black paint, 8 inch white walls all round, (had to modify the front end somewhat), functional chrome exhaust, (cracks a nice note too), and flames. I even made my own sticker for the cowl. It's fully functional, and I love the comments I gat when I mow my nature strips!

The engine is all original, points and the G3 carb.

If you were to get a metalic red/brass paint, and paint the white cap in the air filter, it might end up looking like a performance automotive airfilter!

Cheers

Yes, but I'm wondering what is actually going on there, how has it been done?

It's the Rat Rod look. Flat black paint, big wheels with white wall tyres, a touch of chrome, and red gloss flames. The chrome exhaust is actually a section of a lawn mower handle, off a rover if I remember correctly. The muffler is the standard VC, gutted, with the bottom exit welded shut, and the chrome pipe silver soldered into the top front of the muffler. The upside down handle is designed to give it a sleeker look. You can't see it in the pic, but the flat black paint work continues up the handle to enhance the look. The air filter is also mounted on a piece of chrome handle bar. The catcher was green and came from a fully green Mustang. Plastic primer and flat black paint.

It's the main advertising piece for my business.

Just because I could......... hahaha

It's quite a look!

I love interesting restorations, it shows that you don't always need to do the same old thing!

Cheers

Bugger, I was hoping that was real, that would be awesome.

Then again, this now creates an opportunity for anyone here who is good with plastic or fiberglass!

Not real sure how you get a rotary mower working with a piston pointing vertical.

Probably not an easy task that one! hahaha. It'd only have to look that way. I've got enough engine parts here to make things look weird. hahaha

Im thinking the only way you could actually do that would be with a modified bike emgine, tuned to hell so it will scream 13,000rpm no trouble, then bevel reduce the RPM to spin the disc.

To be a propper F1 mower it would have to scream.
