Hi Darryl, Yes it's a nice rare one, I don't think I'll have it for long, I have a friend in the US who wants it, so I'll trade it for another chainsaw.

Hi Gmax I sold quite a lot of the XD saws new. . The were quite an unusual saw to tune . . The tank was pressurised as you pulled the engine over and when it started you had to get the carby right by adjusting the needle in the carby . You held it flat out while adjusting the needle. If you opened the needle just a bit to much the carby would flood and then the engine stopped and you had to start all over again. Although they were a gear drive saw I sold a lot of them to Pine pulp cutters as there was nothing at all on the market at that time .Homelites came on to the market at that time and the Model 763 . a direct drive saw of about the same weight took over and I dropped the Jonsereds model like a hot potatoe. . In later years though I sold Jonsereds agin when they produced some good lightweight direct drive saws and were handled by a different distributor.
How about the throtle lever on your model which you moved from side to side LOl Cheers Joe

Hi Joe, Thanks for the info, yes Iv'e never seen a another chainsaw like the XD, right now it's on a plane on the way to USA. I have a friend in the USA (another chainsaw collector)who was desperate to find one for his collection. I suppose when direct drive chainsaws started showing up no one wanted gear drives anymore, that throttle lever on the XD is a real novelty.
