[1] This issue relates to uploading images.

A member contacted me and said he had problems uploading an image.
The image was 2.6 MB jpg and therefore under the 4MB maximum.

The message was that the file could not be uploaded because of file size.
The image was emailed to me and I reduced the size.

The member tried to upload the smallest size 348KB. The error, this timne,
was that the image had to be in jpeg or png format.

I logged in using the Tester profile and could upload the same images
to the same forum.

[2] This issue relates to the notice given for uploads:





The image above was uploaded as the 2592x1936 2.7MB original.
The uploader correctly has converted it to 1280x956 = 316.79KB

However, the image is not clickable to reveal a larger size.
This is so under my profile and the test profile.
My question is - is the Uploader Notice in error?

This issue has been forwarded to Bruce for investigation.

I tried another picture into this post and received this message, I either get this message or the wrong file type message


We encountered a problem. The reason reported was
Files can be no larger than 4194304.

Thanks for your help Jack, using Photobucket at the moment but it's the long way around.

I tested as you and the photos uploaded with no problem. You need to be specific on what image type you are trying to upload and size so that we can test to see what is the problem that you are having.

Ok, just took this one with the iPad camera and it works, problem definitely with my iPad. I took the same picture again but this time i saved it to my photo library and it won't upload. I will check my settings and see what's up. Apple must be converting the photo to some other format for storage.

Interesting that the picture is now gone, I suspect Apples ICloud has a lot to do with this. I have turned off all of Apples bling and will try to upload a pic

This issue has arisen before on Apple Smartphones (but not iPads...yet).

The code shows it is definitely a .jpg format file

Uploaded using the take photo option, bypassing the storage album. This photo will not be stored on my iPad. Just checked and it is stored in my photos.

Now it works and then it doesn't ?

No problem using my wife's IPad which has not been upgraded from ios7

That's great Paul - progress is being made.

I personally feel that using this site should be hassle-free.
Technology seems to get in the way sometimes.

Clearly, members are now profiling you Paul.

You have violent, militaristic tendencies, you are pedantic
and precise, and have a penchant for cheap student-grade noodles.
You have pets, possibly male and female.

You have a sense of humour, but you have problems uploading
images to a support group website.

Works from my phone

Looks like all my problems are down to the Apple update 9.2, will have to wait for another update to fix the last update. Will use my wife's IPad which is still Ios7 for any quick shots and Photobucket for any longer postings
