Great work again CyberJ.
I've just been on petermuller.org and to say that he was inspired by Lloyd Wright is an understatement. Most of his stuff is so pure Lloyd Wright that except for the gum trees in the photos, you'd never know! He also did an office block for Victa it seems and apparently studied in Pennsylvania- no surprise there.

But what a fantastic house!

I also just learned that Walter Burley Griffith studied under Lloyd Wright. Never knew that before......

Hello prd!

Great to hear about this. I had no idea that Walter B-G studied with the great Frank L-W!
I guess the gum trees could have easily placed this house in California.

It is a fantastic house isn't it? And I love the Dupain photos.

The thing that impressed me is that Mervyn only experienced wealth in later life.
The evidence suggests, though, that he had wealth and taste; quite a rare thing
for the nouveau riche. I guess he was a nouveau Richardson grin

Your comment about Muller designing an office block for Victa is startling new news to me.
I wonder what it looked like. Perhaps the entrance hall in this photo?:

Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry Jack, I'm still struggling with getting photos onto this forum. Never mind I'll keep trying. I was going to post a photo of the victa building. In the meantime if you go to the Peter Muller link it will roll through photos of his work. I think it's about the 6th photo from the start.

I know what you mean. Good architecture is one thing, someone who can do it justice in photographs is every bit an artist as well.

Not sure what you mean about new money and taste. Why, up here in queensland we have a mining baron and political 'mover and shaker' who has remodelled his resort with plastic dinosaurs! What's not to love??

Hello prd

Information on adding photos is available HERE.

That is just amazing! It's the Milperra Factory Head office! Beautiful.
This is important, new information for the Victa Record.
[I love the way 'Victor' is misspelt in the second photo.]

Prd, thankyou for this valuable information.

Yes, I understand Queensland is quite the place where millionaires and taste coincide.
All those tasteful costalottas in canal estates on the Gold Coast...

I salute the 'white shoe brigade' and their exquisite tastes.

p.s. I really do understand that, wherever he walks, the mining baron and politician referred
to is a 'mover and shaker'.

Cheers and thanks.
