Well here it is, runs well and as you can see has been fitted with an Atom ignition, it still has points & condenser still sitting in there, any info on what should be painted and what not would be good, I was thinking black prop, mid brunswick green g/box and transom mount and engine original hammertone, with a polished leg, seems that the colours it is now is some sort of lighter green hammertone on the clamp,G/box/leg. Another option I will concider is go totally different and go with the Blue hammertone on engine and a darker plain coloured blue on the G/box etc: opinions always welcome as it will be a while before I get around to it as the predicta has just taken priority over everything else at the moment.

and it has the optional neutral/gear selector between engine and leg.

yeah Gizmo I do like that colour too, looks similar to the predicta I just got, No Blumbly havent been doing this very long at all, the best bit was the bits I took off the outboard this morning, a green fuel cap unpainted, a cigar fuel tap and the starter with the nut on top but no steal cable though, the carby had the two cable top on it as well, those bits were what caught my eye right from the start. smile

Good score again....May i ask the engine number and line code if you dont mind,im curious about its age...The dark shade and a few other things you mentioned look to me a very early one,and not being a "Tiger" may be one of the Mower to Marine converts and would explain the different leg colour....Awesome score Jonesy! Missed out on so many of these and still dont have one lols...

Yes I thought so.....That number is a very early model 4 Special/STD mower engine number...The Industrial/marine apps had very different sequences. Maybee the reason for the green cap and cigar tap and early starter and the more bluish appearance of the paint indicating its quite early...Seemingly it may be The mower to Marine conversion of the time...( wont go into it to much, but basically an engineering co offered a boat/marine conversion so you could just bolt your mower engine to your outboard) BUT the early marine were "Tiger" 125 engines and I think your engine pre dates the conversion..worth doing a little research though smile. There is some info about it here and there...OR someone has just changed the engine at some time...Awesome score...Lucky Bloke, I love the Marines.

Yeah Blue I have a model 4 mower with a later model 5 series 3 engine that the outboard engine is going onto and vice versa, at some stage anyway.
