Hi Gents and others,
well probly the same as alot of others as I have looked on here as aguest for a while, but today I went out a picked up two Victa 18 Specials (I think) from two different people, from what I can gather one is a series 5 model 1 the other a series 5 model 2, I will attempt to upload a couple of pics, the dirtier one with the wrong wheels was mowing lawns until a few weeks ago and runs fine, the other has compression and missing the spark plug and is in need of wheels with tires/air cleaner etc but should not take much to get fired up, I will be doing a bit of a job on them come winter and all info is greatly accepted, cheers for now. Oh and the running one has an engine #AC50234 nothing under that number and the non runner, engine #227756 over a 1, the first engine number seems to be strange, is it?

gday Jonesy. i cant help you with the numbers as such.and ive been trying to get a grip on how to decipher it all. the variations of numbers just seems to get more and more varied. yours is the first ive seen with AC heading. ive looked at some of my previous posts regarding such numbers to try and help you out in this regard, but as usual yet another slight variation.
some of the guys here are very knowledgable when it comes to the number crunching. so be patient they will sort you out promptly. Anyway matey good Haul there.looks like you got a couple of descent projects to look forward to.

Yeah thanks for the reply Baz, I was hoping one of the numbers guys would have seen my post and offered some advise, had a few look but no one posting anything but ya never know?

Well today I got a lead off a friend of a bloke he went around to his place with someone else and seen he had some old mowers, so went round and introduced myself and told him I was looking for some Victa 18 parts if he had any, well turns out he had two sitting under his bench that he was willing to give me a look at and both had rebuilt engines, he was quite knowledgable about them, he told me he used to have 8 but run out of room and a guy bought 6 of them a while back, after discussing some of the bits I was looking to get he showed me some of his bits and peices, after a lengthy talk I asked him what he would be prepaired to part with, so I ended up coming home with the parts in the pictures, the spare engine is also rebuilt, also any info on these engine numbers would be greatly appreciated, got the stuff at a good price too
