Fellas what distinguishes an Aussie donk from the Chinese gear?

I have seen some Aussie made jobs are stamped or have the logo on a sticker. Some of those square "crate" types that look like the bottom of a milk crate, engine tops are identical to there Aussie made jobs but don't say so.

What's an easy way to tell when you are looking at pictures on the Trading Post, Ebay etc?

Hi Chris

What exactly do I look for regarding the fins?

Probably too late now as I have bought the mower but here are some shots.

Are you able to ID it for me.

I was in a bit of a rush to get a cheap 2 stroke mower for the slope issue I spoke of earlier.

Thats been messed with.

Its got a full crank decomp valve in it.

I think the later V40's are chinese.

I think the V35's were all aussie.

Heres a chinese cylinder next to an aussie one.

I wouldnt be too worried, just sort it out and cut the grass.
The tank is going to have to come off that as with the carb like that i would say you will need to pull it off and clean it out. new inlet O-rings, new O-ring under the pull starter.

Check it for spark before you do anything.

Bob.
