Hello ODK History Lovers
News Cuttings was Victa’s official news publication to its
dealer network. Introduced in the late 1950s, it would be
no more than a few pages in length.

This summer 1967 issue is of some interest because it
deals mainly with Victa’s dealer network and good examples
of dealers’ displays.

The lead story confirms that the Victa Imperial was introduced
in late 1966 for the 1967 range. The story affirms strong sales
of the 16” machine. I wonder if Victa’s bold move to encroach
on Scott Bonnar territory – be releasing a reel mower – was the
impetus for SB to fight back with its brilliant Model 45,
introduced in late 1968…?

The other main story is a user testimonial – of how a Victa was
used as a land clearer for a new home.

Pages 2 and 3 are essentially a photo montage of various Victa
dealer displays from around Australia. Note Victa’s promotion material.



Page 4 follows the usual trend – a technical article reproducing Victa
Servicing Guide No. 45 on grass catcher efficiency.

This is followed by the light-hearted Short Cuts and cartoon.
