Hello Members, some of you may be interested in my latest Greenfield, I purchased it from the son of the original owner who bought it new in Rockhampton, apparently the first one sold there! what makes this greenfield great is that it came with the original Wind-Row side chute and the original DUAL WHEELS! I will en-devour to get this mower going, clean it up and add it to the collection.

Cheers

Morning greenfielder,

Rare indeed to find one with the chute! Also great that you have the provenance.

I also find this machine interesting from the point of view that Rocky didn't have a Greenfield dealer until the early to mid seventies.

Also, the dealers name......Beaneys Mowers. It's not a name that's around now but there is a very old business that still exists called Beaneys Communications. They have been around for a very long time and are in Archer Street! I wonder if they perhaps went into mowers for a time as a sideline.

Trove is once again of no use as it stops in 1954! Grrrrrr! I'll vote at the next federal election for any party that will put funding into getting this important historical record completely digitised to within the last 10 years.

Excellent find! Chute, Duals and provenance! Gotta be happy with that.

Cheers,

Funnily enough, there is also a Beaneys Communication sticker on it! as well as an original sticker that has "manufactured by Greenfield" and Greenfields street address on it.

That is interesting!

I'd like to see photos of both those stickers, please. The greenfield one because I've never seen one that says 'manufactured by.....'. The other out of local curiosity.

Many Thanks, greenfielder!,

Of course photos of these sorts of details are, as Jack puts it, '.......for the record' smile .

Out of curiosity, how are you going with the old girl, .......the one you got early last year with the very early grille etc?

As for the really early one, well Im just plodding along. I've hit a road block with the engine and I need a early G40 for parts but I cant find one anywhere.

Gday greenfielder,

What are you chasing? I’ve recently picked up a ‘short’ g40 and a complete g45 for parts.

Many thanks too greenfielder for the last batch of photos.

That’s the first time I’ve seen a chute for that model.

The decals are also interesting and clear up the theory about Beaneys.

Interesting, I hadn't realised before the 25" decks had a different chute mounting to the standard 2 slots. Also I've noticed on the front of the discharge there is a little standoff, the catcher I have has an arm looking for a hole right about there to mount, and I've never seen anything on one before now. Mine has the 28" which looks more normal.

G'day Nath, that little casting on the front of my deck does indeed have a hole in it however to use the Wind-Row a steel rod must be pressed into it. The Wind-Row has a corresponding flange that slides over the rod and the whole chute pivots around that.

Cheers
