Hello ODK history lovers
The Flymo was the original low-flying air craft lawnmower.

It is amazing that hover-craft technology was applied so early to lawnmower
designs. From the original patent in about 1964, we saw the first Australian
Flymos in late 1968 for the 1969 season (best guess).

At that time, Flymo was made by an Australian subsidiary Flymo (Australia)
Pty Ltd
of St Leonards, Sydney. Just a year later everything would change
with the Swedish Electrolux Group buying into the brand. The second event
was that the Electrolux Group acquired the great Australian manufacturer,
Scott Bonnar.

This brochure dates to 1970 for the 1971 season, and I believe this is
the first brochure produced by the new company, Flymo Scott-Bonnar Pty Ltd.

This brochure image is telling.
Note the addition of the first electric Flymo to the range.
I guess that's an obvious Electrolux change. As an offside, not
the Model 45 range still included the original line-up plus the
new 45 Electrics.

PART TWO - The Brochure
This brochure was a lucky acquisition and it is in great condition.

Note the second version of the engine-powered Flymos the Professional 2s.
There's a new Impulse starter model, but the biggest hoot is the claim that
Flymo cuts lawnmowing time by 60%. Really? grin

As always, I make this brochure available for viewing or as a high-resolution download.
