Hello ODK History Lovers At some point in the late 20th century, Bragg Industries of Riverview Road, Undercliffe, NSW, became Jetfast Industries.
Bragg had been a small but not insignificant lawnmower maker from the 1960s. They generally made budget or entry level low- arch machines under stencil and store brand names.
At some point they were lucky enough to acquire Supa-Swift designs that permitted them to make high arch mowers. They also acquired other designs, like the 22-inch side discharge design from John Deck and Sons of Smithfield, NSW.
This Parts Manual from my collection dates to, I think, the 1980s, and it is a comprehensive guide to the range of models Jetfast made at that time.
Particular thanks to Glo Mod Gadge for his opinion and correction of my initial dating assessment. The manual itself suggests in 'JPS - SPC-10/85' that this manual dates from late 1985.
This is all provisional, and I hope members will be able to contribute to the Bragg/Jetfast story.
PART TWO - The Manual This manual is in good condition and has 24 pages. It appears to follow a format of top-end domestic mowers, then side-discharge mowers, then other machines [mulcher and edger], then other mowers [the 22" and budget mowers].
The naming conventions are interesting: a sort of West meets East thing; embracing Western Technology [jet-age, space-age]; mythology [Thor]; and the Eastern Oriental [Shogun, Sumo, Samurai].
PART FOUR - Large Mower, Budget Rear and Side Lawnmowers This final part covers the large 22-inch utility mower, a mid-arch, rear discharge mower and a budget "toe-cutter" utility mower.
