Good afternoon all

Thanks to Jack for the initial owner contact.

I managed to get a message to him being in possession of the only wind rower I knew of but unfortunately he had sold that mower. I was able to track the mower but it was on sold again, eventually made contact with the current owner of the mower, who initially, for reasons obvious, was reluctant to part company with the part. After a number of conversations over time, a piece of rather expensive broken plastic arrived.
The quest to make an exact replica has begun and here is the first prototype which I'm pretty happy with. after a bit more work, painting etc I think it will look great. The pictures are deceiving as they make the replica look smaller but it was cast from the original.

G'day WCE and all

The side shoot cover came out great.

Just on a side note about Turner ,I found out a while back that the paint department used a wall of flowing water to remove
overspray when painting all the mower bases .

Pic below is not the Turner wall of water.

Cheers
Max.

Hi all

A couple of Turner pics ,one is the water wall, apparently the spray booth was pressurized to keep
out dust.

Cheers
Max.

Good evening ODK members

Well here it is, original toe guard bar but not a lot of my work I must confess other than some filling and painting. Needed to contract the services of some very good people to get this to the finish line, very happy with the outcome. The F61 has a wind rower that is very correct.

Cheers
wce

Hello wce, Paul, Gadge, and Maxwell
This is a great topic that I couldn't contribute much to.

It's a great jigsaw story where knowledgeable folk (above)
have contributed to our understanding of a very old rotary mower.

The Turner safety windrower is now actualised to history.
This is an important story for the evolution of lawnmower safety.

From the blades (Gadge & Paul), to the factory images (max),
to the terrier tenacity of wce we have a resolution!
[wce, you made this happen!]

Many thanks to all.

Yes wce, I hear you have a bit of a problem over there and the ppe or lack of has been mentioned over here. At least you are only locked down for 5 days at the moment I think?

The mind boggles Norm ! the exact question about what the person was or wasn't wearing in the way of ppe was asked to our minister of health at the news conference this morning, he could not answer the question !!!! when the person rang in to say he wasn't coming to work his next shift because he was feeling unwell no alarm bells rang !!!
I believe our government has done well so far but it's now obvious that Covid management has been underpinned by lashings of extreme good fortune. Other states, Victoria, in particular made some blunders and the public have paid the full toll for them. WA has had some major breaches but got away with it, thus far. It would be a miracle if there are no cases of community spread given the distances and places this person has visited instead of being isolated, to the average person what has happened doesn't take rocket science to prevent.
Our leaders have taken great delight in leaping in front of the cameras at the lectern declaring WA the safest place on earth bla, bla, bla but of course continually pumping up ones tyres usually leads to problems.
If the poo doesn't hit the fan, and I certainly hope it doesn't ! It could be a case of our leader actually being able to walk on water.
