Hello ODK History Lovers
News Cuttings was Victas official news publication to its dealer network.
Probably introduced in the late 1950s, it would be no more than a few pages in length.

This early 1976 issue is of some interest; because it covers so may diverse topics at a
dynamic time in Victas long history. There was so much happening at this time; because
Victa was moving away from a domestic lawnmower maker to a garden products company.

Page One covered a few topics: its second Export Award; the new advertising campaign
[The copy is about as politically incorrect as it gets ... but spot-on for the Swinging Seventies ...]

The highlight would have been the new Victa Twin. Everyone was looking at those twins blush

PART TWO Cuttings 1976
Page Two was all about Victas expansion at this time.
They re-branded a range of American rotary tillers, German chainsaws,
and offered garden rakes, sprinklers and a manual edger (of unknown origin).

On the professional side, they offered a bowling green multi-roller and a large Tri-Mower.
Victa were clearly prepared to import and re-brand garden products.

An interesting graphic on this page was about fuel mix.
The new Twin was 50:1; regular 160cc Victas were 25:1.
The surprise was the Victa Imperial fuel mix 80:1.

The vast majority of Imperial users would have used BP Zoom Outboard at 50:1.
This was also recommended by Victa for the Imperial!

PART THREE - News Cuttings 1976
Page Three covers the new style Service Bulletins (sent monthly), and an article
featuring the Victa 6ft Tricut tractor-driven mower.

The biggest news was the keen demand for the new Victa ride-on range...

PART FOUR NEWS Cuttings 1976
Page Four was all about promotions.
These were the more personal stories of dealer success.

This involved both sales and spare parts promotions.
This is the first evidence of me recognising Victas
Colour Coding of its 1970s parts packaging
Maroon chassis parts and blades
Blue starter parts
Orange magneto parts
Yellow engine parts

Even Humphrey B Bear knew his mowers
I do feel that Mrs Taylor (centre) had more a sense of style
than TV personality, Miss Marilyn (right). Humphrey was
not wearing pants totally wrong!
