My old victa is a side gear start with side exit. I do not know model or year or even engine size.
Similar to another post, I can start the engine use it for 10 mins or so then sometimes she dies or if I turn off cannot restart until cold, like several hours or next day. There is no spark at all. I figure it must be the coil or condenser (module). These part nos are MAO5506A and the gold coloured module has 800FL2 on the side. I have removed these items to clean up.
Any help or ideas on where to start, thanks.

Bury, You do not have points and condensor as the gold electronic model replaces these. The gold module will be your problem and I would suggest that you replace it and the mower should be ok again. Just go to your local mower shop and ask fo a Victa electronic module and the cost would be about $30.00.

Thanks Bruce,
I am in the UK so will have to hunt around a bit. Is this part the same as on current models. Worst case do you ship from Sydney.
For future ref, approx what year and model name would mine be. It has a green base and a E shaped coil stator.

Bury, Can you post a picture as it would help but I am pretty sure it was made in the early 1980's. As to the module the present models have the module built into the coil so it would not be the same and yes we can ship to the UK as we ship modules all over the world. Just send a PM and I will arrange it.

by the sound of your description your mower could be a utility model made between 1981 and 1984
