Hi Andrew,
Well it's fabulous to have another SB owner on board here, but I just can't get my head around why most of the Scotty's are in either SA or WA ???
So what a dilemma you have, from my point of view I know what Jack is thinking in the background that's running through my thought process.
But I'm going to break with tradition here and say the Kermit Green Twin railer made in Eagle Farm, Brisbane as I just can't get my head around that ugly home made catcher on the early solid deck and the Rover looks to me to have had a pretty easy life.
If you're into originality well it'll have to be the Rover everyday of the week but if that's not a concern then I'd probably fit that new engine onto the Rover and have a good mower for years to come.
I've surprised myself that I've come up with that outcome as all the regulars on this forum will know that I'm a sucker for the original solid deck machines.
Your call.
Cheers, BB.

Hi Bonnar bloke
im thinking exactly the same, just swap the motors over and paint tidy up bits on the kermit green one as i only paid $50 for it with new chains, spockets, sharpened reel and bits and pieces just the motor is a bit iffy when its cold. should i replace anything else while doing the motor swap??
the guy who painted the solid deck done a terrible job, do you know what colour its originally supposed to be? the parts one i might just chuck on gumtree.
Thanks Andrew

At $50 your laughing as those still command around $400~$600.
Sometimes you just get lucky.
Cheers, BB.
PS. the solid deck's original colour was Alpine Green.

My next question is the solid deck one worth doing up? Or just pass it on as is.
Found the clutch cork needs replacing in the Kermit green one, hard to do?
Cheers

Hi Andrew,
If you intend to change the power plant then you'll have direct access to the clutch body and while that's all apart the changing of the cork is easy as.
It's just a matter of scraping the old out and gluing the new lining in.
Cheers, BB.
