Here a picture of my Aussie two stroke. Unfortunatly I Didn't think to ask Stanfords for the box as they had set the lawn mower up for me. I have only fired it up once so far and it goes quite well. they told me to run a 40:1 ratio in it if using full synthetic oils instead of the normal 25:1. What do you people think about that. Thankyou for a very knowledgeable forum where people share information willingly.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the only thing about it is the design, now go back and get that box laugh

Now that is a new old model, they must be using up a lot of spare parts in this model. I like the green :-) how much ?

Paul they have been the same since 1984, only thing they have changed in that time is the plastic engine cowl top to make it look like a new model and the cheaper to produce wheels

Yes I would have liked to have seen the older style of wheels on it that would have made more retro. I thought that the green was the best colour of the three.

You never know, those wheels may hold up better than the older ones, I rarely find one without holes punched in the plastic ring on the inside of the front right hand wheel

I'm using that ratio in my trimmer , supposed to be 50:1 but measured out a bit more oil.

Echo recommends it for the better oils. I'm using a semi synthetic.

Hello all

Thanks Hermosil for the great images of this final Victa model.
I love the Brunswick green colour.

Those larger wheels really make pushing a breeze.
Do you plan to use this one, or keep it as a show piece?

Cheers

Cyberjack, to answer your question, I do intend to use it, all my lawnmowers I like to use on my small patch of lawn. They take it in turns. smile

Hi Hermosil

That's a good method - of giving each its day on the grass.
Your images are important in recording the last of the Victa 2s.

Just an update on my Aussie 2 stroke. Yesterday I went to fire it up and it ran and stopped on its own and then wouldn't turn over at all. So back to Stanfords with it! mad It was still under warranty (only 4 days old) They were a bit surprised that it had failed (power torque engines being almost indestructible) So they said they would look at it and they decided to give me a brand new one instead and I was able to procure the box for it.I hope that this one lasts a bit longer. smile I found out what had caused the problem. It was the circlip on the gudgeon pin falling out and the pin hitting the exhaust manifold> It had also scoured cylinder as well. That mower was going to be shipped back to victa with a please explain. Has any one else had this fault happen? All in all Stanfords were very helpful with the whole situation and got me going again. grin

At least you have the box now, just keep it safe for another 40/50 years and somebody will pay big money for it. Gudgeon circlip not seated properly, things happen, hopefully they don't have a batch of bad circlips

Not good about the circlip, I always check that they are seated and spin them a little in the groove to check. Good that they gave you another mower, I am pleased that you got your carton :-)

You can go out to their Recycling skip out the side of the building and procure as many of these things as you like as it empties the bin for them.

I used to go in there on a daily basis when we were moving house and just pulled boxes from Honda's, Rovers and Victa's, actually I still have a few that I never used that are still flat packed on my outdoor table in the shed with a whole lot of soft packing stuff sitting on top.
Maybe I'll be in for Thousands of dollars some day when I put them all up on eBay ?...................Nah ! I don't tink zo.

BB nobody would want old Honda boxes, it is the Toe Cutter boxes that are sought after, but who knows the last of the Victa 2 stroke boxes might be collectible one day, that is if the have 2 stroke written on them. I was reading in the paper yesterday that panic buying of second hand V8 Commodores has pushed the prices up. "At a recent Holden company car auction - open only to dealers - several near new Commodore V8 sold for their full retail value" so one never knows what will happen in the future and what will become sought after and collectible

Hi Norm,

I'm not for one moment saying that I'm going to hang on to old Honda boxes even though they are the best packing boxes in the business, it was really more of a joke than anything else, as I can't see myself as hanging onto large amounts of cardboard for years. There are better and faster ways to make a dollar than in that trade.

The VF Series II V8 Commodore will be one of the most collectable Holden's to grace the dealer showroom floors, so you better place your order now and maybe you could on sell the order before taking delivery and make a few dollars that way just as Porsche owners did back in the late 1980's that on sold their orders and made some serious coin to people that didn't want to wait over 12 months to take delivery.

Cheers,
BB.
