These are the other members of my collection. The holy grail of mowers I want to get my hands on is the VC 125 mark III from '73'. An Italian family we knew had one back in 1988 and I saw one other that same year and none ever since (except the pics on this site!).
Here is the rest of my hoard.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

See I knew you had more.Nice auto drive.I take it it has fallen victim to the diff removal and now (as I call them) an auto push.
I do wish you the very best in finding a VC-125 Mark III as they do seem to be very rare.It has taken me near on 8 years to get one and half of them. The one reason I got the second one as between the two year they were made (1973 & 1974) they seem to have two different base castings, but they do come up from time to time.Just not very often,I'd say due to them being the lower end of the Victa line and only being a 125cc engine they were not very popular. If I do come across another one I will be sure to get in touch with you.

Thank you kindly Blumbly. I will keep looking in the meantime.
The person I bought the "Auto Push" off said it is a 1972 model and he got it at a garage sale with the self propelled system already removed. That suits me as I like the industrial look of those rear wheels without the added weight and complication of the system.
I quite like the non standard starter and unorthodox positioning. I might leave it that way.
The deck is in (very)good shape and it is a sturdy unit with nice (almost) rust free handles.
Starts easy but stays on one rev level (no throttle control) and doesn't stop!!

Well yes he is correct it is a 1972-73 model.I have 2 myself one is an auto drive and the other is an auto push, but I do plan to put the drive system back on.The only part I'm missing for that is the top part of the handles. If I had that I would have already put everything onto it.They are usually a difficult mower to find, but lately I've noticed quite a few of them appearing on flea-bay so now I'm not so sure they are as rare as I originally thought.

It seems you consider it worthwhile to get it back in order. There is (or was) a fully functioning 160 Auto drive in Sydney on Ebay for $150 without catcher. I have been toying with getting it. Opinion from the VC160/125 restorer?

Nah, I'll limit it to getting the carby in order!
