Fairly clean looking tractor on ebay that somebody up that way might be interested in. I would be all over it but it is just too far away.

Mmm, for a start bid I think it's a bit high.
The thing that interested me was that it's not a Honda powered beastie (no bonnet cut-out) so I guess that makes it a Fuji? I don't think I've seen an original Fuji powered HD8 before. Is that the original engine, I wonder. Nor sure what I'm looking at.

I don't think the $216 start bid to be unreasonable seeing the condition it appears to be in. I hate these 99 cent start bids people put on and then watch the thing sell for $800/$1000, why waste peoples time

They painted it GREEN.. All looks in good shape though. I'm trying to find a genuine Red model..

from what I know is that the first models ( the Red model with no bonnet flutes ) had 2 types of engine, they had issues with overheating so they fitted a different engine then started to add the Flutes in these models..

Picked up my HD8 for $110 , had to get it from Flowerdale, Vic.. Fantastic condition as well

As is evident from the front axle mount, this was the second series [yellow] HD-8, not the first red series. I can only recall encountering one Robin engined HD-8, and that was a yellow one, back in the 1970's when my family had a Greenfield agency.

Dunno quite what the story on the bonnet louvres was; they seem to be found on the Red series HD-8's, but not all of them.

Seller must be watching here, the start bid has now gone up to $300.

Seller has ended the sale "Item no longer available" There were no bids so perhaps he sold it privately to a local.

The IPC for the Old Red gives the Greenfield item number for the engine as GT34. There is an asterisk footnote that says "state engine type". This suggests there was at least a couple of engine options. Personally I've only ever seen the G65.
