It has come that time once again where the weekend was so good I have to share it with everyone!

This weekend started off when my dad gave me a Shell de-mineralised water bottle, a Valvoline bottle and a bottle with a yellow top.

But today we went driving around the north side of Brisbane, checking places for mowers or mower stuff. We didn't find any mowers (except a Victa Special base that some bloke wanted $70 for, he decided not to sell it when he got angry at someone who wanted it for $50) but what we did find was very cool! We found an envelope that said Victa Special on the front, when we opened it up we found some information for a Victa Standard that someone had bought in December 1959, and some more stuff for a later mower, I think a 1961-1962 Victa. Does anyone have a Victa motor with the serial numbers BB5378??

After this I bought this BP-Zoom can for cheap.

I then swapped this keg for 2 Shell outboard motor cans.

Does anyone collect old stoves? I got this envelope for a vintage stove with my Victa stuff.

Sorry about the side ways pics, I can't get them to rotate.

Cracker of a weekend Kye. You'll be needing your own garage soon.

That's already being planned slash, we are planning to get 2 shipping containers and put a roof in the middle, so I can put my first car in there once we find it. I'm hoping for something with big guards, like my dads Humber Super Snipe.

Truly a man of impeccable taste. Are you planning on three walls of shipping containers? You seem quite resourceful and quite likely to turn up some secondhand roof trusses. I am looking around for another few free big windows and a glass sliding door to extend my garage. A couple of those and it's more light than you can poke a stick at ( I pretty much don't have neighbours)

Man, I love those suicide doors too. Are you boys talking about an engine transplant?

Slash were not sure about how we are going to do it just wet, whether its one shipping container or 2 with a roof, we don't know. We are trying to sell it at the moment, but if it doesn't sell soon i think my dad is going to drag it back inside and i'm not sure what will happen from there.
You dad wasn't a doctor was he? Apparently this Humber was bought from someone who was a doctor in a country town.

Hi Kye

I'm sure there is a reality TV show just for yourself & Dad.

That Humber is beautiful.
The bonnet alone could house the doctor's surgery!

The piece that caught my eye is the Esse envelope.
I feel you should hold on to that one; not for the Esse bit,
but for the company - Qld Pastoral Supplies (QPS).

I did original research in Brisbane a few years' back on QPS.
They were mower manufacturers! Their main factory was where
Cathedral Place now is - opposite St. John's Cathedral in the City.
I hope to write about their wonderful mowers this year.

I'm trying to think of a name for your show...

Jack I can always remember, I was probably 9 or 10 years old when my dad lifted the bonnet and this massive long motor was sitting in there

I like the last part of the name Jack! haha, The only problem is the TV show might reveal our secrets! haha. I will keep the envelope for now, will go with my pace envelope laugh Now I have the Ambassador, the Viceroy, the Envoy printing block and the packet for the manual! What era would the other stuff be, the stuff about the blades and complaints?

Next time we will hopefully be bringing back a Leyland Comet 90.

I'm not sure if the 2nd pic is stuffing up for you guys but it is for me, so here it is again. Wouldn't it be great if I could find the Victa Standard with that exact same engine! All the payments and dates are there, December 1959, various different days though.

Kye,

you and your Dad are, in my opinion, the "Australian Pickers" of the mower world but with less resources (i.e. no TV crew or research staff) and more success than the "American Pickers"...keep it up!

We find more then just mowers Patrick, I have a few shelves filled with other things, vintage bottles military stuff, fuel cans, random cool things, car parts, we have heaps! we have a Fordson Thames from the 1950s, a 1946 Dodge Utility, a 1960 F-truck, a 1938 Ford Ute, a F-truck from the 1970s which is rusted bad so were using the chassis for the 1960 and more!
