There is a little sticker on the victas suggesting 1 push of the prime button is sufficient, I have always had to use 3, sometimes more. Is there one factor eg priming button loses its efficiency, compression dropping over time etc. that causes this? What would it take to get back to the one prime only push?
I've always pushed any primer bulb in three times. This way you have cleared the lines of any trapped air and have nothing but fuel only throughout the whole system.

I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
Hey guys, thanks for your thoughts. It's always taken me 3 primes too but Victa say 1 prime or at least use to. Norm petrol was 1 variable that I hadn't even thought of but could well be a factor.
The primer on a Victa only pushes air not fuel, it pressurises the fuel chamber which in turn forces fuel into the intake. One press would have to be in a perfect world somewhere under laboratory conditions.
