After a quick search of ebay i found some things that i was unsure about. First thing i found was this Advertisement for a BUZ-A-CUT mower which you can find here . I am unsure if other members have seen or heard about this mower so i thought i would post it here. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/01/full-9734-26619-_57.jpg) Second thing i found was a Meadowbank lawn mower which i have shown here . The third and last thing i found was ... this Toe cutter style lawn mower with a Kirby 4-stroke engine. At first i thought it was a bitsa, but after looking at it for a while i was wondering if it was perhaps a production lawn mower. It has unmarked hubcaps, half decent (i have seen better looking) axles and handle bars and, the main thing, what appears to be the remains of a decal on the front. I may try to buy this as it is not too far away from me depending on what you guys say. I could swear i have seen that decal before but just can't recall where! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/01/full-9734-26622-_57_1.jpg) Thanks for reading everyone! Kye.

Another thing i have just found was this bunch of mower parts, if you look at the snorkels and air filters, one air filter is red, possibly a department store version? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/01/full-9734-26626-_57_3.jpg) Lots of junk there too haha thanks for reading kye

Hello Kye and PaulI think I might have to split this post up - because of the important subjects contained here. I hope that's okay? "Toe cutter style lawn mower with a Kirby 4-stroke engine. At first i thought it was a bitsa, but after looking at it for a while i was wondering if it was perhaps a production lawn mower." Kye, it is a production lawnmower. These were sold as a 'Fairway' lawnmower. The manufacturer, I believe, was ... Rover Mowers! Rover would claim 'Fairway' as their own brand much later on. The handle plate is typical Rover, but that's about it. My best guess is that these were Rover's store-brand. ------------------- Jack

Hi Kye
Yep, I will break this topic up after the auctions end.
I will put the advert in the History Australian Rotary Forum shortly. That ad has been offered for sale since 2014!!!
The description makes no sense to me, "this come apart but lamaned" It's a pity the exact date of publication is also not known.
More when I do the record. -------------------------------- Jack

A smart person would go to Visy Board and get a few hundred made That is what happens when an interest group focus on a particular marque of anything

G'day all
I'm with you Norm! This carton is an important piece of ephemera. It was never intended to be kept - it was just ... packaging. It is significant that this one survived. Fantastic!
This particular carton belongs in a suitable museum, where it can be preserved and stored correctly. For everyone else, a nice reproduction would look fantastic for the collector so-inclined.

Hi Jack, I was just speaking with a bloke who called in and I mentioned to him about the box, he said it was sold a few years ago for $900. He seemed to know what he was talking about

G'day Norm
Well that's interesting ... and frightening. What's that old saying ... "more money than sense".

A Quick search of Gumtree After a quick search of Gumtree i have found some things that may be of interest to members. first thing was this department store victa for $95, or as the seller calls it, Custom paint! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/01/full-9734-26693-_20.jpg) Next thing was this Clyde Reel mower for $140. It is quite expensive (compared to other reel mowers on gumtree), but i know the rotary clydes are quite rare, so i thought i might post this one up here. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/01/full-9734-26694-_20_1.jpg) Third and last thing i found was this awesome collection that was negotiable, looks like some super swifts and some other types. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/01/full-9734-26695-_20.jpg) Maybe some Barclays? Thanks for reading kye.

That collection looks right up my ally! I particularly like the alloy base in the front left of the shot it has some real charm about it. Barclay? I've never heard of them. What motors did they run?

If it was closer to me then i would have already messaged the bloke! His ad showed 2 Victa mowers and didn't look very exciting, but once i had clicked it i could see that it was a very good collection! As for the alloy bases at the front, they are very similar to the base my pace has, i might be wrong about this but i think victa may have just removed the pace name from it and added a decal back in the day. Jack might know a bit more about it. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/01/full-9734-26697-pace.jpg) Sorry about the bad picture, it the best one i have showing the base and my pace is buried beneath whats left of our Australia Day BBQ Thanks for reading! Kye.

Hello all Contributors
This Topic post is becoming unmanageable, with multiple subjects being posted under one title. This makes it extremely difficult to manage and index for searching.
The Old Soap Box is the filtering ground for articles presented in the History Forum. I feel these topics should be presented in Collectors' Corner or other forums.
Could we please start a new topic for each separate subject. A catch-all for everything on eBay is overwhelming.
Cheers & thanks ------------------ Jack

G'day KyeMate, you are an astute, clever and quick learner. The History Forum is a BIG PROJECT, in that it is attempting to catalogue the history of garden machinery in AUS. You have raised very important questions, and I hope you continue to do so. It keeps me on my feet, that's for sure These forums are over-complicated, but we are slowly improving them, so that an improved logic will be user friendly, and we won't get the "what forum should I post in?" questions. The bottom line: good forums are underpinned by good moderation. Cheers---------------- Jack
