Hi Sean and vccomm

The Victa low-arch is a store brand, using the classic Mayfair chassis.

The Villager looks to be the Model 70 - a more desirable machine than
your Amplion (in my view). Under that red paint will be a nice copper
fuel tank, and the alloy badge is a real gem. Imagine that as a belt
buckle at a country hoedown ... or bingo evening laugh

Jack, how is this more desirable than the amplion? will it cut as good, my amp has the best finish of all my mowers. may use the badge as a belt buckle while i clean it up. this was found for me by the bingo caller

Hello Sean

A lot of questions there.

First, I have to ask whether the 'bingo caller' is also the 'bus driver'?
I am not suggesting an inbred community, but your 'operatives' network
is quite complex for a small 'operator'.

Oh yes, Villager is the more important lawnmower manufacturer.
Amplion was a clever marketing company - Villager, a true 'range'
manufacturer that was much more of a challenge to Victa than Amplion ever
was, or could be!

They were also innovative; with their 'twin cooling'

Your machine would look fantastic restored, and is - in my view -
your most significant lawn mower.

Hope this helps.

na mate. just turned the motor over a really little bit and is sounded really scratchy so i wont move it again and take the carby and exhaust off to inspect(sounding like i know stuff) the piston and rings, hope it only needs a clean out. i have never seen a motor like it, will try to work it out. if that doesnt work i will work it out! differnt carby too will pull it apart and take pics
