I'm not the aesthetics guy around here, but in my opinion if you paint the chainguard with that, you'll have to repaint the whole mower with it. It is simply a different colour.

I agree that the colour is different - and im not too worried about the scratch being there - my biggest worry is getting further damage from rust.

If you just dot along the scratches with the tip of a brush loaded with metal primer, corrosion will not be a problem. The sooner the better, since the rust can proceed underneath the remaining paint, extending the scratches.

Hi once again Dejan87,
You seem reluctant to take the advice we are offering you, it is a very simple fix...Take it to a reputable smash repairer, he will do a colour match for you, and spray the chain-case for you...apply the new decals you can get from willing worker (Grant) and the machine will be as good as new...no fuss or worries...and most importantly no rust!
