This has the Tillotson carby. Problem starting. Have cleaned carby and replaced carby diaphrams. Has new spark plug with good spark. Have put in new fuel. Starts for abt 2-3 seconds then dies. Fuel is getting to carby. What are the best positions for the 2 screw settings and which screw is which?

Any other ideas on how to keep it going?

When you replaced the diaphragms did you replace the fuel filter screen in the carby?

If you did replace the scree in the carby and not just the one in the tank.

Here is some information on the setup:

Setting up your 2-cycle Tillotson Carburetor.

Before mounting your Tillotson carburetor check the pulse track from the carb mounting surface and make sure that this track through the carb adapter , gaskets and etc is clear and in line with each other.

Set the low (Closest one to the cylinder) speed needle at 1+1/2 turns out and the high speed needle at 1+1/8 turns out.
