Hi and thanks to anyone who takes the time to read my post. Does anyone know what the original engine colour would have been on this Rover Powermaster? I think it is a 79 or 80 model?. It has the white metal Rover emblem. I have a couple of these and the bases were both red and seemed to be orignal so i repainted it red. One engine was black, the other engine was repainted orange over the original white. It is a 79 model engine. I don't know if they are the original engines but i would like to paint the engines the original colour for this mower. Thanks and regards to anyone who can assist. Generally with rovers, on a red base I have only seen black engines fitted as original equipment, on the blue rover bases either a silver or yellow motor, the last few blue ones however did have a black motor

Thank you Joe. Black would look better on red anyway i reckon. I might paint my other base blue and the engine silver.
Cheers.

If you can post a pic that would be great. Sounds like they could have been a 'store' model. AS much as i would like to paint it original colours, i'm not sure about a white engine.
Cheers.

Thanks for posting the pics they're beaut! Since found out from a mower guy up here that they did have white engines and were made for the old Chandlers store chain up here in Queensland. I'll put the engine together, paint it white, stick it on and see what she comes up like.
Thanks heaps.

Yep got a good catcher. This is the first mower i have completely stripped and started from scratch. Paint mightn't be too successful. Looks alright but seems to be'soft' and scratches a bit easy.I used Dulux Metalshield in a spray can. I'll post a pic when she's finished.

that would be enamel ? stick it out in the sun (at least you have it there ) let it harden for a week or so , works for me as the boss wont let me bring them inside anymore in front of heater . if you could a pic of the catcher ? i might already have one somewhere in the pile . looking good so far though . a pasty sort of orange werent they a place on ebay has new B+S decals too, name your engine size though all colours too i think but should be clear . seems to have a lot of older stuff too but not store brands

Here's the catcher. 2x metal hooks riveted on each side at the end with the big hole. It hangs on the rear flap. I can't take a photo of it on the mower cos the flap isn't fitted yet. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6536-11408-30062013119.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2013/06/full-6536-11409-30062013120.jpg)

Hi Toot,
Sorry to revisit an old thread, but what type of paint did you use on your mower? Im curently resotreing and old chandlers powermaster myself and i'll be getting the chassis sand blasted shortly ready for paint but i wasnt sure what type of paint or where to send it to get it done.

Hello Brendan
Could you give a little bit more info? When you say 'type' of paint, are you referring to colour?
It is important not to powder coat your machine.
Hope this helps. ------------------------------ JACK

Hey jack,
Im interested in what type of paint as in colour and also the type of paint. Also how to paint it or where to have it done.
I now know not to poweder coat so what other options do i have. The above chassis looks great and i wish for mine to look this good!

Hi Brendan
I'm sure a member can advise on that shortly. I take it your Powermaster is Rover Orange, not Rover Blue.
These Powermasters have an excellent chassis. It is the Model 26 Challenger. 'Powermaster' is the store brand name. I guess you knew that, though.
Hope this helps. ----------------------------- JACK
