I have a scott & bonnar 45 with no engine and the Clutch body that suit 5/8" shaft
The Clutch body is an earlier unit with a cotter pin on it.

I also have a working kirby tecumseh engine 3/4" shaft

Can the Clutch body be resized to suit 3/4" shaft ?

Hi Alwood, I have never seen or heard of it being done personally, the design of the captive cotter may preclude it; I would consider consulting a professional engineer and see what he thinks. wink

I have just bought a new inner clutch half (5/8") for my Scotty 45 with the grub screws....I find them a much better fixing method than the captive cotter system....1 screw locks the PTO shaft key in position, and the other at 90 degrees onto the shaft itself.

To aid in cutter clutch adjustment, you can just slide the clutch assembly to the correct position and lock it down, and you're done. Easy-peasy!
Anyway Alwood, all food for thought. wink

Hi Alwood,

I'm looking for a 5/8 clutch body to replace a flogged out unit. Are you interested in selling it and then purchasing a 3/4 unit later ?

Let me know.

Cheers,
bonnar_bloke

I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
