Hi DJ1984 and welcome to our lovely home of outdoor stuff, especially mowers.Well it is for me anyway. You will find on here a couple of Scott Bonnar fans on here.I'm sorry not me although I'm becoming quite knowledgeable on the Scott Bonnar rotary's.I do believe they ran for quite some time so as far as year I have no idea.If I'm correct (and I may not be)there should be some numbers on the cowl. Most likely on the carby side.If so pop them up,that should help ID the year and model number. If not I don't know and (I'll shut up)and I'll leave it to the people who do know.Like Deejay his the man to know. Thanks and again welcome aboard. You'll will find you will learn a lot here. It's a great forum.Enjoy.
Here for a good time, not a long time.

Hi DJ1984, and a warm welcome to the forum. It's great to have another SB 45 owner (and another DJ) on board. Your machine is the later (twin rail engine deck design) so would have been manufactured sometime in the mid70's. It has the Kirby Lauson (Tecumseh) engine that should have a model ID plate stuck to or riveted to the air cowling....it may be on the crankcase itself. This should give you the model of the engine..... but unlike Briggs and Stratton you can't date a Kirby by the engine code numbers. Parts for these engines requires ordering from the USA, as parts here in Oz are rare. Once again DJ, to OutdoorKing.

There the numbers that will reveal all.I'm not sure what they mean either, but the 45 does mean model 45.I don't know after that.
