Hi Markab13, and on becoming a Scott Bonnar Model 45 owner, and a warm welcome to the forum. The thrust bearing goes in rounded side first, and press it home gently, until it contacts the flange in the housing. Most Scotties make a sound when you engage the clutch, so that should be OK. Once again, Markab, to OutdoorKing.

Thanks Deejay, i did put it in the way you mentioned round in and it sit around 3 to 4 mm below flush that seemed as far as it wanted to go with the soft hammer, could you tell me how old it is , Model 45 No 19372 , motor number in day time as my eyes cant read it tonight, the motor has points and condenser and needed to be cleaned out , but starts 3 pull, Just curious does anyone have work shop manuals to these mowers like clutch adjustment and the drive adjustment or do us smart guys just work this out by trial and error? and also as i work in a large printing factory i am going to get a clutch plastic thingy made up from Teflon or nylon and see how it works , will let you all know if i can work out how to use this forum LOL cheers and thanks again Mark
