Saw an add on Gumtree today. Couldnt hook the trailer on quick enough.

Pictures are a bit crap, was dark by the time i got home.

Its my clock. Model 4 seized, seized and seized. Thats motor, wheels and height adjuster.
[Linked Image]

Whats this one?? Motor turns, can get some movement out of the height adjuster but i still cant wind it up from 'eat dirt' and i dont want to get all nasty on it. Wheels are a bit wobbly.

Id say most of its there. Whats the tank top right??
Got a bonus motorbike clutch cable as well.
[Linked Image]

Are all the bits there??
[Linked Image]
Are the two little screws part of the carb?? Nearly missed them mixed in with the bright green ratsack coloured mouse poop.

Blah old victas.

This is the one that had my interest.
Im thinking that Ty might raise an eybrow.

This is one nasy mo fo Rover.
It caught my eye straight away.
First reason was the handles, they are mounted off a plate under the motor.
[Linked Image]
It looks like it had a Rover badge on there.
[Linked Image]

Handle mount plate is under the engine, handles bolted to the back of it, can just make it out in the top corner.
And the height control looks like a factory job, same on the other side with a bracket for the catcher lug.
The paint also looks right for the handles to be factory rover.
[Linked Image]

Second reason was the motor. It looks like a 13ci 5HP, the fuel tank and carb, its internally governed, the crank case, the oil fill and drain is all the same as the 13ci. But it says on top its a 4hp and the code sayd 10ci. Very interesting engine.

Photo did not come out so good. Best i can make out looking at it without sanding the paint, its 100902 0222-03 74040206
[Linked Image]

Im thinking the base is the same as this one. It looks like it.
I would not object to removing its motor and donating the rest to the aboves resto.

Im thinking this mower is worthy of its very own thread.
I would love to know if anyone has ever seen one before or has any sales brochures with one in it.
The crappy night time in the shed photos do not do it justice.

And im thinking i might have found the right catcher for it.
Im thinking i might take a punt and see if the seller will deliver it to my mates place on that side of town.

Catcher on eBay

This might be for the big one, in the other picture i can see what looks like a wheel mounting lug.

I won it for $10.

Seller told me the distance between the tags on the catcher is 200mm, the mower measures the same.

I won it. Gotta pay for it.

Dont do restos. No time.

Id easy have 80+ mowers here waiting for attention. Plus another 10+ ride ons, thats where all my money is tied up.

Got a car to fix up and sell, a ute to fix up to use, 3 motor bikes to sort out and 2 racing mowers to build before i even think about taking on another 'lesiure' type project.
But at the rate im going I will have to offload the ute and bikes and start restoing mowers as i will be too old to tackle any of that young bloke stuff.

Hi Bob, I would be interested in the short snorkel and air filter in pic No 6, if you're willing to part with it...it is all I need to complete my Model 5 coffee table. I don't need the clamp that's attached to it, I have one here ready to go...
cheers2

Its actually not very good. The elbow is all split and the yellow rotating bit in the housing is all perished with bits breaking off it and you cant turn it.

Im still having a good hard thing about wheather im going to keep the model 5 and resto it.
Best i can tell ive got all the bits.

Thanks for your reply Bob, what a pity, from the look of it, I thought it would be just perfect! Never mind...good things come to those who wait...as my Mum used to say! lol
cheers2 Bob!
