hi all gave the rover two stroke a good work out today, it went well except for the fuel tank filler cap, it appears to have a home made gasket inside the cap witch was not allowing the displacment of air into the tank as the fuel was being used by the engine causing surging. Bruce could you please send me a list of spare parts you have for this mower and would you have a replacement fuel cap rgds graham

Graham,

All the jets in the carby are fixed so you don't have any adjustment. Can you explain what the problem is that you have so I can help you through it?

I have a workshop manual for the motor but it will take some time before I am able to get to it as it has about 34 plus pages that I will need to scan. woot

the adjustment on the the suzuki 2 stroke carby is a tappered needle screw with a spring it is marked no 11 on the sheet you sent me. when the motor is set to full throttle it sounds to me like it is running a bit lean, pull the throttle back a little and it sounds and runs smoother ??? rgds graham

Graham,

That screw is for air flow and is usually just for the idle speed only as the high speed is fixed jets. As to the setting for the air I normally set it to 1 & 3/4 turns out from bottom and then adjust from there for the idle.

Check that you have cleaned out all the jets in the carby (I usually use some copper wire) as this will cause problems. yay
