Briggs says you should check that governors move through their range without sticking, just by moving the speed control from minimum to maximum without running the engine. Set at minimum the throttle butterfly should be against its idle stop. Set at maximum the throttle butterfly should be wide open. Then move it back and forth and see if the butterfly moves smoothly between the two limits.

Hi the 1989 victa pro 12 i have rebuilt from the ground up, the PTO electric clutch has been pulled down some time ago( don't know by who). I have reassembled it to the best i can see how it went together. There is supposed to be an air gap between the clutch and the magnet.(?what is the measurement) next i can see when it is disengaged it should drop down fractionally to supply the air gap, when i put in the main bolt to hold it all together to assemble it it seems to do up too tight and closes up the air gap and constantly is spinning i have not had the electrically connected yet only to test the magnet. Does anybody know what i need to set this up for correct installation. Thanks for all of your help and advice in advance.
